MAFS Bride Bec Zacharia Accuses Gia Fleur of Calculated Set-Up in Explosive Interview
Married At First Sight participant Bec Zacharia has delivered her most incendiary remarks to date, directly accusing her co-star Gia Fleur of orchestrating a deliberate and calculated set-up against her. In a candid interview with Daily Mail, the 35-year-old account manager described the now-infamous dinner party argument as "deplorable, awful, and horrific", laying the blame squarely at Gia's feet.
Allegations of Jealousy and Deception
Zacharia claims that Gia Fleur, 35, feigned friendship with a singular, malicious purpose: to sabotage her relationship with on-screen husband Danny Hewitt. "I feel like I have been set up by Gia in this moment," Zacharia stated, refuting Gia's claim that they shared a mutual dislike for fellow participants Stella Mickunaite and Alissa Fay. "That's just never come out of my mouth. I think Stella is the most incredible human being ever."
The animosity towards Alissa, Zacharia explains, stemmed from information allegedly fed to her by Gia and Scott McCristal, who claimed Alissa believed her relationship with Danny was "fake". "That's where that anger and animosity towards Alissa comes from for me," she revealed.
Drama Over Danny Hewitt
The interview delves deeper into the core conflict: Gia's alleged obsession with Danny Hewitt. Zacharia addressed the bombshell claim made by Gia and Brook Crompton that Danny had told Gia she was "his type". "If those girls were my friends and Danny actually said that comment, then they would have pulled me aside in a private place," Zacharia argued. "But instead, they made a spectacle of it."
She was unequivocal in her defence of Danny and her condemnation of Gia's actions. "Gia is obsessed with my husband. His name has been in her mouth from the get-go... I do not believe Danny said that. Gia speaks more about Danny than she does her own husband," Zacharia fumed. She believes jealousy was the primary motivator, stating, "She was jealous that Danny was matched with me, because he was more her type."
Claims of a Calculated Plan
Zacharia painted a picture of a premeditated campaign to undermine her marriage. "She purposely did this. She was setting out to destroy our relationship, knowing full well that we'd had a little bit of a rocky start. Without a doubt, that was her plan," she asserted. She believes the friendship was a tactical manoeuvre, designed to make the eventual betrayal more damaging. "She's calculated. She knows exactly what she's doing... She might be plastic, but she's calculated and she's smarter than she looks."
Rejecting the "Producer Edit" Excuse
Zacharia also forcefully rejected Gia's claims that producers manipulated her and Brook into attacking Stella and Alissa. "I'm hearing Gia on the radio saying it's an edit. This is not an edit. What happened is what happened," she stated. While taking some accountability for her own raised voice, she dismissed the notion of producer coercion as "absolute bulls***", adding, "I think she needs to be a big girl and take some accountability."
Bombshell Revelation: Gia's Real Name
In a startling revelation, Zacharia leaked that Gia Fleur is using a pseudonym on the show, revealing her real name is Cassandra. "The moment I met Gia - actually, I'm gonna say Cassandra because that's her real name. The moment I met Cassandra, I didn't like her," she confessed, wishing she had trusted her initial instinct. This claim was corroborated by Danny Hewitt, who referred to Gia as "Cass" on the companion series MAFS: After The Dinner Party.
Danny Hewitt's Measured Response
In contrast to Zacharia's fiery accusations, Danny Hewitt offered a more conciliatory perspective when speaking to Daily Mail. "I don't really want to drag this thing out, to be honest... I've got nothing against her in a way. I don't hold a grudge," he said. Expressing a desire to move on, he added, "I wish her well. I hope she's OK... I think my innocence has been proven... I don't think they're nasty people. They're people who made mistakes that we all have in life."
The explosive interview lays bare the deep fractures within the Married At First Sight cast, highlighting allegations of jealousy, deception, and a reality TV feud that shows no signs of abating.
