MAFS Australia's Steven and Rachel Split Days After Final Vows

Married At First Sight Australia couple Steven Danyluk and Rachel Gilmore have ended their relationship just days after recommitting to each other during the Final Vows ceremony. The pair, who had thrilled fans by deciding to give their marriage a chance outside the experiment, broke up before filming the reunion episode.

Rachel, 35, revealed in an interview that Steven ended the relationship shortly after Final Vows, leaving her devastated. She said he quickly made excuses not to visit her in Melbourne, citing work commitments in Sydney. 'I became a burden, and I had to be dropped,' she said.

The couple had discussed starting a family, but Steven allegedly told Rachel he did not know if they would work in the future. When he finally visited Melbourne, he spent most of the time trying to end the relationship, repeatedly saying he could not give her what she needed.

Rachel also learned from a friend that Steven had been dishonest about his whereabouts during the experiment, claiming to go to the gym while actually meeting another participant. 'If you’re lying to me about your whereabouts, what else are you lying to me about?' she fumed.

Reflecting on the split, Rachel said she now realises Steven was not ready for a relationship. 'It was Steven’s life, and I had to adapt to it. He wasn’t ready for a relationship,' she concluded.
