Married At First Sight Australia producers have scrapped all footage of a 2026 couple, despite them having already filmed their wedding and honeymoon. The decision was made after rumours circulated on TikTok about the groom's past behaviour.
Bride Ankita Karungalekar and groom Micah Lomu tied the knot in a fairytale ceremony and spent three days honeymooning before being abruptly removed from the show. Ankita described the producers as 'ruthless' for editing them out with little explanation.
The rumours alleged that Micah had been violent towards an ex-partner, which he denied. Ankita said she received messages labelling him as 'manipulative' but there were 'no receipts of sexual assault or domestic violence'. Micah said he was 'shook' and 'cried for hours' upon learning the reason for his removal.
Both Ankita and Micah expressed shock that Channel Nine made such a significant decision based on unsubstantiated TikTok videos. Micah noted he had passed all psychological checks and background vetting, stating he was 'painted as someone to be scared of' and felt like a 'scapegoat'.
