Love Island Fans Furious Over Angelista Gunda's 'Robbed' Screen Time
Love Island Fans Furious Over Angelista Gunda's Edit

Love Island viewers have criticised show producers over the portrayal of contestant Angelista Gunda, claiming her true personality was deliberately edited out until recent episodes. The 24-year-old nurse, who formed a bond with late arrival Simba Kudyiwa, has been hailed a 'hero' by fans after finally being allowed to showcase her humorous side.

Fan Outrage Over Edited Portrayal

Series 13 of the ITV2 reality dating programme is now in its sixth week, with just over two weeks remaining until the grand finale on July 27. Despite this, fans believe they are only just beginning to see Angelista Gunda's true character. One viewer wrote: 'Every scene with them two was cracking me up omg production robbed us of funny Angie.' Another added: 'I love their current dynamic with him trying anything to get her back. It's jokes.'

Rocky Road to Romance

Angie's journey with Simba has been anything but smooth. While she remained faithful, Simba's attention was diverted several times, most notably during Casa Amor, where he brought back Casa Amor girl Mara Pirez to the main villa. He reversed his decision within 24 hours after recognising what he had with Angie, and has since been striving to win her back. Audiences watched as Simba recited a poem he had composed for Angie in front of the entire cast at the fire pit, which seemed to soften her towards the idea of reigniting their romance.

Angie's 'Hero' Status

Angie has since been making Simba earn her affection, and she was hailed a 'hero' by viewers after having him hold back her hair while she ate her breakfast. One fan commented: 'Angelista is my hero for this. I LOVE "make him grovel" Angie, her personality has finally not been edited out these last few episodes and I'm now obsessed with this girl.' Another vented: 'She's so funny you can tell Love Island aren't giving her the edit she deserves.'

New Bombshells Disrupt Peace

While the dust has now settled on Casa Amor and the subsequent Movie Night, the arrival of two new bombshells on 9 July has once again disrupted the peace. Newcomers Elicia and Ethan whisked three Islanders each away for a breakfast date, turning heads as they did so. Finley Maddock was particularly taken with Elicia, causing a rift in his relationship with Ellie Chadwick. Whether the pair can patch things up, or if Finley will opt to pursue the newcomer instead, will be revealed in upcoming episodes.

Love Island airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. The grand finale of Series 13 will air on July 27.
