Love Island Australia is back for its second season, premiering tonight. The show, a hit Down Under, follows the ITV2 format but with a key difference: this year's series is filmed in Fiji instead of Mallorca.
A new teaser introduces this year's male contestants, as host Sophie Monk calls out names while the boys enter the villa. Among them is Gerard, a personal trainer and long-time nudist, and Matthew, a model who also wrestles professionally.
The female contestants include Cassie, a self-proclaimed party girl seeking a serious relationship, and Jessie from Tasmania, who boasts 54,000 Instagram followers. Cartier, a 19-year-old born-again Christian, stirred debate by stating that a woman's role is to 'cook and clean' for her man.
ITV Studios' Majiella Wimers told The Daily Telegraph that the show can be more reactive than the UK version, with casting agents in Sydney able to send in new contestants within 48 hours if they fit the villa dynamic.
