Liam Gallagher has revealed he was offered a place on The Celebrity Traitors but turned down the opportunity. The Oasis rocker told a fan on social media who wanted to see him on the BBC show that he had been approached, but he has no desire to appear on Claudia Winkleman's game of deception set in a Scottish Highlands castle.
'It's not my thing'
Responding to a fan on X who wrote "They should put Liam on Celebrity Traitors", the 54-year-old replied: "I've been asked. It's not my thing, I'm not a celebrity."
Gallagher, who performed 41 global sellout shows with his band last year, does not consider himself famous enough to meet the show's threshold. After declining the Scottish trip, he is set to return to Glasgow next year on the Oasis Live '27 tour with brother Noel, playing five nights at Celtic Park next May.
Record-breaking return
The second series of Celebrity Traitors returned to screens on Thursday, October 1. The premiere was the most watched debut episode of any series of the programme in the UK, with an average of 8.9 million viewers, following a record-breaking first series in which Alan Carr took the entire prize pot.
This year's series features 21 new famous faces in the castle, with Maya Jama, Richard E. Grant and James Acaster as the secret Traitors. The Faithfuls include actors Michael Sheen and Bella Ramsey, singer James Blunt and comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett. Representing Scotland is Glasgow actress Sharon Rooney, known for My Mad Fat Diary and Barbie.
First murder and cliffhanger
Journalist Amol Rajan was the first contestant murdered by the Traitors in the second episode, after Acaster was recruited as the third traitor. Friday's episode ended on a cliffhanger when Grant, 69, slipped up and admitted he was a traitor to his fellow co-stars, sparking confusion among the cast.
Viewers will have to wait to find out who is the first to be banished from the castle. The Celebrity Traitors continues on Thursday at 8pm on BBC One.
