King Kenny, one of the 21 celebrities competing in the latest series of Celebrity Traitors, has a connection to another popular reality show. The influencer, whose real name is Kenny Oghenovo Ojuederie, is linked to a former Big Brother contestant through family ties.
Kenny is among the famous faces who entered the Scottish castle for the ultimate game of deception, guided by host Claudia Winkleman. He shares the spotlight with comedians, musicians, actors, presenters and other renowned personalities.
Shock twist in latest episode
The most recent episode delivered a massive twist that even he didn't anticipate. *Warning - this article contains spoilers for The Celebrity Traitors series 2 episode 5*.
Audiences tuning into the latest episode discovered that Kenny was faced with a significant decision. After banishing recruited Traitor Professor Hannah Fry, the majority of the group celebrated long into the night. But as the remaining Traitors, James Acaster and Maya Jama, convened in the turret under the cloak of darkness, they decided to recruit.
Kenny received the invitation to switch sides and was seen joining them for the first time, reports Wales Online. He was visibly shocked to discover the true identities of his fellow Traitors and couldn't wait to deceive the rest of the group.
Real name and rise to fame
Kenny's actual name is Kenny Oghenovo Ojuederie. Like many online personalities, he chose a simple stage name that would be easily remembered and recognised by fans. He earned the nickname King Kenny after he started posting on social media and YouTube back in 2013. Consequently, Kenny is recognised as one of the pioneering British influencers.
Kenny retained the moniker when he embarked on his boxing career and when he joined the Beta Squad, a British YouTube collective, in 2019. The group cohabited in a mansion for a while where they filmed and shared videos together. Other prominent members included Chunkz and star of Celebrity Traitors series 1, Niko Omilana.
Link to Big Brother
Kenny has several siblings and half-siblings including boxing trainer Daley Perales. He trained Kenny for his own boxing career. Daley himself had a brush with television fame when he appeared as a housemate on Big Brother back in 2013. The series was being aired on Channel 5 at the time and he was among a handful of contestants to make his entrance on the second night of the launch shows.
Devoted fans of the reality series might recall that Daley was expelled around halfway through the run due to his behaviour towards another housemate. At the time, it was reported that a bout of 'play fighting went too far'. Daley later disclosed that he was "battling personal demons" while in the Big Brother house. He also revealed that following his stint on the show and the circumstances surrounding his exit, he sought therapy.
Now, he frequently shares updates on social media under the handle @thedaleyeffect. He often muses on training progress, the sport in general as well as mental health and wellbeing. The Celebrity Traitors airs Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
