King Kenny, a star of the current series of Celebrity Traitors, has a connection to another hit reality show. He is one of 21 famous faces who entered the Scottish castle to play the game of deception, joined by comedians, musicians, actors, presenters and other well-known personalities. Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, Kenny has been away from his busy life and career to take part.
Recruited as a Traitor
In the most recent episode, viewers saw a huge twist. After the group banished recruited Traitor Professor Hannah Fry, the remaining Traitors, James Acaster and Maya Jama, met in the turret and opted to recruit. Kenny received the invitation to switch sides and was seen joining them for the first time, visibly stunned to learn the true identity of his fellow Traitors.
Real Name and Early Career
Kenny's real name is Kenny Oghenovo Ojuederie. He adopted the stage name King Kenny when he began posting on social media and YouTube in 2013, making him one of the earliest British influencers. He kept the moniker when starting his boxing career and when he joined the Beta Squad, a British YouTube collective, in 2019. Other notable members include Chunkz and Niko Omilana, who starred in Celebrity Traitors series 1.
Link to Big Brother
Kenny has several siblings and half-siblings, including boxing trainer Daley Perales, who trained Kenny for his boxing career. Daley appeared as a housemate on Big Brother in 2013, broadcast on Channel 5. He was one of half a dozen contestants who entered on the second night of the launch shows. Daley was ejected around halfway through the run due to his behaviour towards a fellow housemate, with reports at the time saying a spot of 'play fighting went too far'.
Daley later revealed he was "battling personal demons" while in the Big Brother house and underwent therapy following his exit. He now posts on social media under the username @thedaleyeffect, reflecting on training progress, the sport and mental health and wellbeing.
The Celebrity Traitors airs Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
