Katya Jones topped Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard with YouTuber John Nellis, but it was her saucy one-word verdict on rival Lawrence Robb that stole the spotlight. As the Emmerdale star finished his Paso Doble, cameras cut to the professional dancers and Katya turned to new pro Aleksandra Isaeva to mouth: "Fit."
A decade of Strictly drama
Katya has become something of a Strictly veteran when it comes to finding herself at the centre of drama. There was the infamous 2018 kiss with Seann Walsh while they were both in relationships with other people, followed by her Argentine Tango with Adam Peaty in 2021 which ended in a very dramatic close-up between the pair, although they never actually locked lips.
She also made headlines after tense exchanges with Tony Adams. The pair made headlines for their fiery on-screen arguments and intense training sessions back in 2022. Katya was also caught up in the controversy surrounding Wynne Evans after a series of awkward-looking moments on the show, including the infamous moment when Wynne placed his hand on her waist/stomach area, and she proceeded to push it away.
Key member of the Strictly family
The professional dancer remains a key member of the Strictly Come Dancing family, a notable feat after bosses recently axed several long-standing professionals for the 2026 season. She is now celebrating a decade on Strictly.
Katya is a three-time World and nine-time National Latin American champion, who remains one of the BBC competition show's most recognisable stars.
