Katie Price and Peter Andre will finally be reuniting face-to-face after more than 16 years – at least if daughter Princess Andre has her way.
Princess's plan for a launch party
In recent years, the former couple – who were married from 2005 to 2009 – have had a frosty public relationship despite co-parenting their children Princess, 19, and Junior, 21. Katie, 48, and Peter, 53, haven't come face to face in well over a decade, but that could be about to change, according to Princess.
On the latest season of her ITV reality show The Princess Diaries, the influencer opened up about her plans to hold a launch party for her cosmetics company that she wanted both her parents to attend.
Informing her mum of the idea on a picnic, Princess said: “For my official launch, I will probably just invite close family and friends.” “Yeah,” said Katie, before adding: “I mean, I still haven't met up with your dad face-to-face yet. It is weird, isn't it?” Agreeing, Princess said: “But everything happens for a reason.” “Does it?” Katie shot back in an apparent dig at her ex-husband. “I think some things could have been avoided but it is what it is and you just move on.”
Keeping a truce
Later in the episode, Princess filled Junior in on her plan at the preview launch for the brand. “The actual launch, I just want it to be more of a family, friends thing,” she told her brother. “Mum and Dad are in a 'truce' now, so I'm just gonna invite Mum and Dad and whoever wants to come, comes.”
The “truce” is a reference to the public statement shared by Katie and Peter back in February, when the pair announced that they had come to a mutual agreement to no longer speak negatively about one another for the sake of their children.
Princess admitted that “it might be quite awkward” between her parents, with Junior agreeing: “Yeah, first time in a room,” and revealing that he “never” invited Peter and Katie along when he used to perform. “So actually, it'll be good,” he said. “But they've got a truce, so it'll be good. And you know what? It's about you and supporting you. Love that. I'm proud.”
Earlier this year, Katie and Peter appeared to have put the worst behind them as they both shared a statement on social media reading: “Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect. We have reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward. This decision reflects a shared commitment to our family and stability.”
