Camp Chores Controversy Erupts
The tension unfolded on the ITV2 spin-off show Unpacked, which aired an unseen clip revealing the unequal distribution of labour between the two celebrities. Kelly Brook, 46, and Shona McGarty, 34, had been jointly assigned the challenging task of maintaining the camp's water supply - a job specifically designed for two people due to the significant heavy lifting involved.
Viewers took to social media platform X to express their outrage after witnessing the footage. One frustrated viewer wrote: 'Very interesting on Unpacked that Shona isn't pulling her weight on chores & Ruby/Lisa noticing!! How hasn't Kelly kicked off!?'
Ruby Wax Confronts Shona
The situation escalated when fellow campmate Ruby Wax directly confronted Shona about her lack of participation. Ruby questioned Shona at the campfire, asking: 'Shona, were you on water duty?' When Shona confirmed she was, Ruby responded bluntly: 'I didn't know that. I didn't think you were on water duty. You weren't seen.'
Shona attempted to defend herself by claiming she was 'doing the weights' and mimed the action, but Ruby remained unconvinced, stating aloud: 'I've never seen Shona do the water.' Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley quickly backed up Ruby's observations, agreeing that she hadn't witnessed Shona contributing to the water duties either.
Kelly's Solo Struggle
Meanwhile, Kelly Brook was shown repeatedly struggling with the demanding task alone. She was filmed carrying multiple heavy buckets of water while expressing her frustration to Eddie Kadi: 'I can't keep on top of this, it's just always empty.' In the Bush Telegraph, the model added: 'I definitely think being across water is one of the harder jobs. There's a lot of carrying and heavy lifting.'
The contrast became particularly stark when cameras showed Kelly carrying yet another bucket of water in pitch black darkness while cutting to a shot of Shona fast asleep in the camp. Unpacked host Kemi Rodgers expressed surprise at Kelly's patience, stating: 'If I was Kelly I would have kicked off. I'm really surprised that Kelly is very stoically just getting on with it.'
Elsewhere in camp, romance speculation continues to swirl around rapper Aitch, who recently confessed to having a 'soft spot' for Shona. This comes amid reports that the musician split from his girlfriend Lois Cottam just weeks before entering the jungle, though sources claim the separation was amicable.
