I'm A Celebrity hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly presided over dramatic scenes during Thursday night's live broadcast, culminating in the controversial disqualification of campmates Aitch and Angry Ginge from a crucial immunity challenge.
Chaotic Cocktails of Cruelty Trial
The evening's entertainment centred around the Cocktails of Cruelty, a head-to-head drinking trial forming part of the ongoing Rivals challenge. Each celebrity was tasked with selecting two gruesome jungle ingredients for their opponent's cocktail. The objective was simple: be the first in your pair to down the revolting concoction. Victory meant winning immunity from the first public vote-off, a high-stakes reward in the jungle.
As the live trial unfolded, the focus shifted to rappers Aitch and Angry Ginge. In what host Ant McPartlin later described as "controversial" and "shocking scenes", both stars were abruptly disqualified. Aitch was the first to break the rules by spilling too much of his drink, handing Ginge a golden opportunity to secure immunity. However, in a tense twist, Ginge immediately repeated the same mistake, leading to a near-bickering match between the two.
Ant's Stern Verdict and Campmate Backlash
The production crew in the gallery was forced to make a swift decision. Following advice from Ant, it was ruled that both celebrities had spilled excessively and neither would be declared the winner. This meant both men lost their chance at immunity and were automatically placed at risk of being the first campmate eliminated.
Ant McPartlin did not hold back in his assessment of the situation, stating bluntly on air, "They both spilled loads so they both deserve to be on the bench." The decision left Aitch and Ginge visibly furious. Aitch was seen with his head in his hands, calling the outcome "ridiculous," while Ginge also expressed his clear displeasure.
Romance Rumours Continue to Swirl
The dramatic trial unfolded against a backdrop of growing speculation about a potential jungle romance between Aitch and fellow campmate Shona McGarty. During Wednesday's episode, the pair were seen playfully messing around, with Shona leaning on Aitch as they laughed together on the floor.
Hosts Ant and Dec were quick to comment on the cosy behaviour. Speaking live at the end of the broadcast, Dec remarked, "Getting very cosy aren't they," with Ant adding, "Well some of them are..." Viewers took to social media to share their theories, with many suggesting Aitch may have deliberately lost the trial to remain in the main camp with Shona, rather than in the winners' enclosure.
One fan tweeted, "I know Aitch lost on purpose to be with Shona I just can't prove it," while another declared, "I'm so rooting for Aitch and Shona." The speculation gained further traction when Aitch's own manager commented that the pair could make a "nice couple," and Shona's sister gave her approval, saying she would "definitely have him around for Christmas."
