Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman has teamed up with Bilt founder Ankur Jain for the company's latest Rent Free game show, where celebrities take part in challenges to help members win a month without paying rent. The Wolverine actor, 57, is helping lucky fans escape their rent bills for a month, with some winners able to have up to $2,500 of their rent covered.
Struggling to Sell His Own Pad
While Hugh is helping other people dodge their monthly housing costs, his own enormous Manhattan pad remains on the market after failing to find a buyer. The actor's luxury apartment is currently listed for around $28.75million (£21.4m), although it has previously been advertised for a whopping $38.9million (£29m).
Hugh and his ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness bought the palatial property back in 2008 for around $21million (£15m). The sprawling home is a five-bedroom triplex designed by renowned architect Richard Meier and stretches across around 11,000 square feet, boasting three floors linked by a dramatic spiral staircase.
Divorce and Asset Division
The former couple first put the property up for sale in 2022 with an eye-watering asking price of $38.9million, but it was later removed from the market after they struggled to get the asking price for it. It was relisted earlier this year for the reduced price of $28.75million as part of the process of dividing their assets following their divorce, which was finalised in June 2025 after 27 years of marriage.
Upcoming New York Event
Hugh's latest Rent Free appearance comes as he prepares for another major New York event, with the Hollywood star set to host the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on September 26. He has been involved with Global Citizen since 2008 and is now an ambassador for the organisation.
