Hollyoaks has teased an upcoming flashback episode, set miles away from the Chester village, which will reveal the secret romance between Cindy (Stephanie Waring) and Imran (Ijaz Rana). The episode is set to air on Monday, 19 October.
Secret Love Story Uncovered
The beloved soap originally began back in 1995 on Channel 4, and has aired plenty of flashback episodes over the years. Another one is set to hit screens on Monday, and new details surrounding the storyline have now emerged.
It’s been revealed that the episode will follow Cindy and Imran’s secret love story, which took place a year ago in LA. Viewers have become suspicious of Imran’s past, knowing that he had a girlfriend before Leah who he still has strong feelings for. The identity of the mystery woman has now been revealed as Cindy, with the flashback episode set to reveal the beginnings of their romance.
Preview Clip Hints at Affair
In a preview clip, Hollyoaks flashes to LA, with a caption confirming the flashback took place one year ago. It hears one of the characters declaring: “My secret? It started with a painting.”
Another clip sees Cindy and Imran’s relationship tease a next step. Cindy flirts: “You know, this is starting to feel like an affair.” Imran replied: “For us to have an affair, we’d actually have to sleep together.” Cindy looks to be considering it, as a coy smile comes across her face.
Cast Reactions to Flashback
Viewers already knew that Cindy was in America before returning to Hollyoaks, but it’s now been shown that she coincidentally crossed paths with Imran, as their secret is finally set to emerge.
This comes after Cindy actress Steph Waring previously teased the flashback episode to Digital Spy. She said: "There was a lot of filming flashbacks of certain things, before we even got started on the LA episode. I found that really tricky to get my head around."
She added: "I was like: 'Where is this going to go? When is this revealed?' Then when we got the LA episode, that's when it all fell into place for me."
Imran actor Ijaz added: "It was nice to see the puzzles all [come together]. Because it's written so well, and the story is so nicely connected, it helped as well because we were trying to figure out what our characters had got up to whilst they were off screen. Then they put the backstory into place."
Hollyoaks airs Mondays-Wednesdays and is available to watch on Channel 4.
