BBC star Lenny Rush has been cast as house elf Dobby in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter television series. The actor, known for his leading role in sitcom Am I Being Unreasonable?, will also appear in the BBC's Eric Morecambe book adaptation, The Reluctant Vampire, expected later this year.
New Cast Members for Season Two
Billy Barratt, who starred in the 2025 horror film Bring Her Back, has been cast as Tom Riddle, the character who later becomes the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, portrayed by Ralph Fiennes in the original films. Bonnie Hill has been named as Ginny Weasley, sister of main character Ron, following the departure of Gracie Cochrane from the project due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Series Premiere and Returning Stars
The first season premieres this Christmas, with a second already given the green light. The series stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. They join established actors including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall.
