Gogglebox favourite Steve was rushed to hospital this week, forcing him and his wife Sue to miss filming for the latest episode of the Channel 4 show. The couple, from South London, are known for their witty commentary on the week's television highlights.
Absence from Friday's episode
The long-running show returned to screens on Friday evening (October 2) with siblings Pete and Sophie Sandiford, Ellie and Izzi Warner, married couple Andrew and Alfie, and best mates Danielle and Daniella from Leeds. Newcomers Jude and Sherry also appeared.
However, Sue and Steve, who joined the programme in 2019 and quickly became firm favourites, were absent. On Instagram, the couple issued an update and shared a photo of Steve in hospital.
Update on social media
In the caption, they wrote: “What a difference a week makes. Steve was a little poorly and had to spend a few days in hospital & but he is home now. Out for lunch and enjoying his first beer in a while. Just call me Nurse Ratched.”
Confirming their absence from the latest episode, Sue told a follower in the comments section: “We won't see you this week but hopefully next week.” Fellow Gogglebox star Izzi Warner wrote: “Glad you’re feeling better Steve.” Other fans and co-stars also sent their best wishes.
