Good Morning Britain weather presenter Alex Beresford was left stunned on Friday, 25 September, when twin brothers John and Edward Grimes, known as Jedward, interrupted his weather forecast.
The ITV broadcaster had been telling viewers about overcast conditions when the show descended into chaos. Jedward, who appeared on the show to discuss their careers and time on Big Brother, joined Kate Garraway, Ranvir Singh and Richard Arnold before disrupting the weather segment.
Jedward's 'iconic' interruption
At one point, one of the brothers warned: "It's going to be a TV blooper," as the other's head popped up in front of the camera. "We're making an iconic moment," they continued, inviting Alex to dance with them before he returned to presenting the weather.
The clip was shared online with the caption: "Today's forecast: Jedward with a chance of chaos." The X Factor stars were hailed "brilliant" and "iconic" by viewers, and later took to social media, writing: "Thanks @alexberesfordtv for being such a jepic legend." They added: "Jepic storm of double trouble."
Viewers criticise Zia Yusuf interview
Elsewhere on Friday's show, viewers were left "switching off" after a "car crash" interview with Reform UK spokesperson Zia Yusuf, who had appeared to discuss the party's plans to reduce migration. The conversation quickly descended into chaos, with one person calling the interview "shocking", while another accused the presenters of being "biased".
One viewer described it as a "car crash interview", while another called it "horrendous" and yet another called it a "total disgrace". One person said: "Disgraceful interview from GMB." Another fumed: "ITV this is a dreadful interview. I've switched off, it's always the same, except when you interview Labour. It's pointless having other parties on as your presenters just shout & talk over them. Its not journalism."
Presenters clash with guest
At one point, Kate attempted to interject, saying: "Sorry to interrupt you," before adding: "We want to discuss it." When she got a chance, she said: "That was a whole mixture of your belief, probably a lot of people watching's beliefs as well, but can we just try and look and unpick the facts?"
Moments later, she added: "You've got to allow us to talk about your statements otherwise it's not a conversation, is it, and it will confuse everybody." The guest and hosts continued to talk over each other before the interview was brought to a swift end. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
