Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard has begun working for one of his old foes: Manchester United legend Gary Neville. The former midfielder has followed ex-team-mate Jamie Carragher in joining forces with Neville by signing up to the former United skipper's brand new football show.
The Overlap Daily lineup
The Overlap Daily will air every weekday at 4pm on YouTube. The launch show, starting Friday, October 9, will feature Carragher, Neville and YouTube star Mark Goldbridge.
Joining the aforementioned names for the venture will be Joe Hart, Jamie Redknapp, Ashley Young, Tim Sherwood, Kelly Cates, Duncan Ferguson, Mark Crossley, Becky Ives and Peter Schmeichel.
Gerrard's hosting debut
Gerrard, who has returned to punditry with TNT Sports this season, will make his regular hosting debut alongside sports presenter Becky Ives on the Monday edition.
Overlap Daily aims to provide fans with a daily rundown of the latest football news and debate, featuring regular guests who offer exclusive insights alongside the presenters' perspectives and predictions. It will also introduce questions from fans and a phone-in segment.
Weekly schedule and success
Following Monday's show with Gerrard and Ives, Tuesday's will feature Cates, Young and Hart. Wednesday's edition will see ex-Spurs alumni Redknapp and Sherwood take the reins.
Thursday's show will see Everton hero Ferguson and ex-Wales shot-stopper Crossley step up to hosting duties. Carragher, Neville and Goldbridge will helm the Friday show.
Overlap Daily comes hot on the heels of the huge success of Neville's other podcast, The Overlap, which has generated more than 38 million monthly views since it began in 2021. Guests such as David Beckham, Tyson Fury and Rory McIlroy have taken to the hotseat, making it one of the most popular podcasts in the UK.
Neville, founder of the Overlap, said: "We have wanted to create a daily show for some time now. There was a moment in the last year where a manager was sacked and we didn’t have a programme for seven days - at that point we recognised that we needed to go for it."
"The quality and profile of our incredible host line-up speaks to our commitment to deliver the best insights and debate on the biggest football stories, and we’ll now be doing this daily."
Simon Pitts, Group CEO of Global and Co-Chair of The Overlap, added: "The Overlap has created one of the most powerful football brands in the game by putting brilliant talent and genuine fan conversation at the heart of everything it does."
"Overlap Daily takes that ambition to the next level, creating a place for the stories and debates that matter, every day, with an incredible line-up of the best football voices in the business."
