George rejects Christina in Coronation Street as she slips into despair

George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) has told Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) that she is no longer welcome to join him on their trip to Somerset, after discovering she has continued to spend behind his back.

Christina's secret spending revealed

Christina's spending addiction first came to light when George's sister, Glenda (Jodie Prenger), found a credit card statement belonging to Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) in Christina's bag. George later saw Christina hugging a mystery man, Lenny (Joe Osbourne), and learned she had set up a credit card in his name.

Christina admitted to also using Mary and Glenda's details to get further credit cards. Although she came clean and attended an addicts support group, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) soon learned that she still hadn't managed to control her spending.

George sets off alone

Next week, the duo are looking forward to a trip to Somerset to visit George's cousins. However, Todd tells George that Christina has continued to spend, leading George to tell her she's no longer welcome and set off alone.

Attempting to drown her sorrows, Christina heads to the Rovers with Todd for a night out, but admits she's struggling to enjoy anything, worried she's permanently destroyed things between her and George.
