Gemma Collins broke down in tears on Wednesday's episode of I'm A Celebrity: South Africa, telling fellow campmate Adam Thomas that she didn't think she could cope with the stripped-back living conditions. The former Towie star, who quit the Australian jungle after just three days in 2014, had vowed to redeem herself this time around.
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Collins said it had been 'a difficult day' and that she felt close to Adam, so she 'just had to break down and let it all out.' She admitted she was struggling without everyday luxuries, saying, 'It's just I can't wash properly. I can't have anything nice. I've got to wash up every five minutes.' The pair laughed as she added, 'I'm not used to this. I'm just so not used to this.'
Collins has previously demanded someone 'call her agent' and slammed the camp as 'rancid' and 'hell.' In addition to the tough conditions, she has clashed with singer Sinitta, who questioned Collins' casting in the musical Chicago. Sinitta called the casting a 'joke announcement' and compared Collins to US socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor, saying she didn't know Collins could sing and dance. Collins defended herself, saying she auditioned 'fair and square' and had done training with a voice coach.
Fellow campmates Seann Walsh and Scarlett Moffatt looked visibly shocked during the conversation, with Walsh putting his head in his hands and Moffatt cringing. Away from camp, Collins said, 'I'm not a joke, darling. I am not a joke. I have done everything in my life on my own.'
