Gemma Collins' Emotional Breakdown Fuels Early Exit Speculation on I'm A Celebrity All Stars
Gemma Collins, the reality television personality who famously departed the I'm A Celebrity jungle after just seventy-two hours in 2014, has ignited fresh rumours that she might cut short her All Stars journey prematurely. A teaser for Wednesday's episode of I'm A Celebrity South Africa depicted the forty-five-year-old former TOWIE star in a state of visible distress, weeping openly during a team challenge.
Panic During Challenge Leads to Tearful Outburst
In the preview clip, Gemma, competing as part of Team Rhino, faced off against Team Lion rival Scarlett Moffatt in a new trial. The pair were required to lie down in bunk beds before being startled by an unexpected noise. However, it was the moment she was splattered in the face with a gooey liquid that seemingly pushed the reality star to her limit. Visibly panicked, she told Scarlett, 'Forget it, you won,' and later confided in fellow campmate Craig Charles, declaring, 'I don't think I can take it.'
This emotional moment has led many viewers to speculate that history may repeat itself, with Gemma potentially walking away from the competition early once again. The speculation was further fuelled when hosts Ant and Dec informed the campmates that one of them was set to be eliminated from the show.
Viewers Applaud Gemma's 'Redemption Arc'
Despite the dramatic teaser, public reaction to Gemma's performance this series has been overwhelmingly positive. Numerous viewers have taken to social media platform X to express their support, claiming the star is undergoing a compelling 'redemption arc' following her brief 2014 stint. Some have even voiced their desire to see her crowned the winner of I'm A Celebrity South Africa.
Comments included sentiments such as, 'I think Gemma is having a redemption arc which has come as quite a surprise to me,' and 'Gemma has surprised me at how much I like her. She’s so funny.' Another viewer admitted, 'I misjudged Gemma and I think she's brilliant tv. Also wouldn't be mad if she won.'
Camp Tensions Rise as David Haye Threatens Dinner Theft
Elsewhere in the upcoming episode, tensions between the rival camps reached new heights. Former world champion boxer David Haye, forty-five, threatened to steal Team Rhino's dinner after his Team Lion suffered another defeat in a Bushtucker Trial.
The rivalry intensified when Team Rhino goaded David over their victory in the first challenge, the Wicked Watering Hole. The situation deteriorated further for Team Lion after teammates Sir Mo Farah and comedian Seann Walsh returned empty-handed from their disastrous performance in the Cut Throat Cliff trial.
Winners Beverley Callard and Sinitta added salt to the wound, gleefully declaring they 'couldn't wait' to rub their success in. An irked David Haye then declared he would intercept the Rhinos' dinner as it travelled over 'Lion airspace' via a zipwire. Footage teased for Wednesday's show showed the athlete climbing the dividing fence as the food package approached.
Viewers compared the escalating camp conflict to a 'literal battleground,' highlighting the intense competitive spirit of the All Stars series.
