Ex-Traitor Wilf Webster Slams Harriet Tyce's 'Rude' Meltdown on BBC Show
Former Traitor criticises Harriet Tyce's 'breakdown' on The Traitors

Former Traitor Wilf Webster has launched a scathing critique of banished contestant Harriet Tyce, claiming the crime writer's explosive behaviour on the BBC's The Traitors caused her credible accusations to be completely dismissed by the other players.

'She Wanted To Be In Her Own Psychological Thriller'

Webster, who famously lost the first series at the final hurdle, said Tyce's approach was fatally flawed. "Let's be honest, I think she wanted to be in her own psychological thriller," he remarked, referencing the author of Blood Orange. He argued that her strategy should have involved subtlety rather than a sudden, dramatic confrontation.

"She should have planted more seeds. She literally just went mad at breakfast!" Webster stated. "Just don't go mad at breakfast, in my opinion, I think that's the worst thing to do." He also highlighted her manner as a critical error, noting, "She was a bit rude at times, too, and once you do that, people don't listen to you or what you're saying. They just listen to how you're saying it."

A Blown Chance and a Forgotten Outburst

Despite Tyce's fiery confessional speech on 19 January 2026, where she directly challenged the Traitors and named Rachel Duffy as a suspect, her impact was shockingly short-lived. "It's really weird because they literally just forgot about it," Webster observed. "The next day, nobody mentioned it. It really blew my mind."

He theorised that her personal wealth—she and her banker husband are millionaires—may have contributed to her detachment. "She's not there for money and she realised nobody was listening to her. I think she got to a point where she checked out," he reasoned.

Tyce herself has since admitted her failure, confessing: "Unfortunately, and I'm not proud of it at all, I did lose my temper, and I really wish I hadn't." Her credibility was further undermined when she incorrectly accused several other Faithfuls, including Roxy, Sam, James, and Jessie, of being Traitors.

Wilf's Take on the Current Game and the Dagger

Looking ahead, Webster shared his predictions for the ongoing game. Speaking to Mecca Bingo, he suggested the current Traitors, Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby, should avoid drawing more attention to themselves by keeping the powerful double-vote dagger.

"At this point, they just need to relax and go with what people are saying. It's a strange game because the faithfuls are very scatty this time," he said. His own choice for the dagger would be Jade Scott, despite her emotional state, believing she has little power left and her double vote might become void.

However, he acknowledged the emotional dinner where Jade discussed family tragedies could alter the group's dynamics. "It would work on me. But it depends if that person who's listening can take the emotions away," Webster said.

Since his appearance on the show in 2023, the former teacher has become a full-time content creator, amassing over 650,000 followers on TikTok.
