Jimmy and Nicola King are set to renew their vows in Emmerdale, but their happy ending looks far from guaranteed as Jimmy's exit storyline looms.
The couple, played by Nick Miles and Nicola Wheeler, have been married since 2010 and have weathered numerous storms. Next week, Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) suggests to Nicola that she and Jimmy should renew their vows, prompting her to reminisce about their original wedding day.
A Near-Miss Wedding
Their first wedding nearly didn't happen, as Nicola found herself in court facing a prison sentence after biting Cathy Hope. Fortunately, Viv Hope's victim impact statement asked the judge for leniency, and after Nicola was handed a probation sentence, they rushed back to the village to tie the knot.
When Nicola broaches the idea of a vow renewal with Jimmy in upcoming scenes, she is delighted when he agrees.
Jimmy's Secret Decision
However, Jimmy is set to make a life-changing business decision without consulting Nicola, and there's the small obstacle that Jimmy is set to be killed off.
“The scenes promise to be spectacular but the outcome will leave many fans shocked,” a source told Metro earlier this year. “It may prove controversial but the jaw-dropping storyline will set in motion some massive consequences for many months to follow.”
Whether Jimmy and Nicola get the chance to renew their vows before his tragic end remains to be seen.
