Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) has been taken in by Sadie King’s (Patsy Kensit) lies hook, line, and sinker in Emmerdale, and Sadie is dangerously close to claiming her prize. The prize being Jimmy’s (Nick Miles) £150k that he’s hidden somewhere, and Sadie wants to lay claim to it. She’s told the village she was in a secret relationship with Jimmy for years and has been playing the grieving side piece ever since, but it’s all a lie – she just wants the cash.
The hunt for Jimmy’s hidden cash
Problem for her is that the cash is proving elusive – no one knows where Jimmy hid it. Sadie was forced to recruit Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to help her find it after he blackmailed her. But so far, Nicola is none the wiser. She wants to find the money but has no clue Sadie plans to get there first.
The hunt for the money is still on, but it’s paused temporarily for Nicola to say her goodbyes as Jimmy’s funeral day arrives. It’s a tough day and Nicola grieves properly for the first time. That won’t stop desperate Sadie, who is alarmed to overhear that Nicola has unheard voicemails on Jimmy’s laptop that might give away her truth. She embarks on a side mission to try and get them deleted, but she has little success.
A mysterious key changes everything
She might have a breakthrough elsewhere though, when Carl finds a mysterious key at the scrap yard. Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) overhears and recognises the key as belonging to the golf club, and suddenly eavesdropping Sadie knows exactly where the money is. But the question is, who can get to it first?
The race begins, all interested parties race to the club to get to Jimmy’s locker first. Nicola finds it a bit odd when she and Rodney arrive at the club to find Sadie and Robert, still unaware of the scam she’s been pulled into, but will she open the locker and find the cash, or did Sadie manage to get there in time to swipe it all?
Nicola uncovers the voicemails
Once she gets home, Nicola finds Carl in a state having lost his presentation he made for his dad, so she logs onto Jimmy’s laptop and finds the voicemails, and starts to listen. Is Sadie’s game up?
