Emmerdale: Gabby's confession to Nicola changes everything

Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) makes a confession to Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) in Emmerdale next week, which changes the way the grieving widow views her niece.

Nicola and Gabby's relationship fell apart once she discovered the truth about what happened prior to Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) crash. Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) was video calling Gabby while driving his car. She was ranting about how Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) had dumped her, and Vinny was trying to be supportive. Because he was so focused on his phone, Vinny didn't realise that his car was moving across the road. This forced Jimmy to swerve to avoid hitting him, causing his vehicle to smash into a wedding marquee.

Gabby's guilt and a proposal

While Gabby isn't directly to blame for Jimmy and Dawn Taylor's (Olivia Bromley) deaths, she was well aware that Vinny was driving while he was on the phone to her. She made no effort to end the call or encourage Vinny to pull over, and instead focused on how sad she was that another man wasn't interested in her.

Next week, after missing Jimmy's funeral, Gabby arrives at his grave with some flowers. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) then approaches and suggests that she can make it up to Nicola with actions rather than words. Gabby ponders over Robert's comments and then tells Nicola that she has an idea to make things right between them… she wants to give her the money through the deal she's made to sell The Hide to Robert.

A health revelation and reconciliation

In the conversation, Gabby suddenly suffers a coughing attack, and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) urges her to explain to Nicola why she's been in hospital. Nicola learns about Gabby's orthorexia and cannot help but feel for her niece. Soon enough, the duo get back on track.

Later in the week, an emotional Gabby and Laurel hand the keys of The Hide over to Robert. It appears to be the end of an era for these two women.
