Emmerdale fans believe Sadie King could embark on an unexpected romance in the Dales. The iconic villain, played by Patsy Kensit, returned to the Yorkshire village after 20 years last month. Sadie arrived in the Dales in a helicopter shortly after the death of her ex-husband, Jimmy King (Nick Miles).
Sadie's secret exposed
At first, Sadie claimed she had no agenda, as she arrived at the site of the crash that claimed Jimmy's life, but she later revealed a major secret that left the villagers speechless. In The Woolpack, Sadie revealed that she had been in a relationship with Jimmy for the past three years, and that he had been living with her.
Sadie's lies have since been exposed, leaving Jimmy's wife, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), heartbroken, after she had begun to "hate" her late husband. After being ousted by most of the villagers, Sadie made her way to the bus stop to leave Emmerdale, shortly before bumping into Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Mission to seduce Caleb
Joe has since persuaded Sadie to remain in the village, enlisting her to dig up some dirt on his uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash), and his wife, Ruby (Beth Cordingly). Sadie quickly struck up a friendship with Ruby and has even moved into The Mill temporarily.
The villain has now begun her mission to seduce Caleb under his own roof. Sadie's efforts continued during Friday's (October 16) episode, which is now streaming on ITVX. While Ruby left the house to spend time with friends, Sadie bonded with Caleb over their shared childhoods in care.
"When I meet someone who's been through something similar, it's like finding a kindred spirit," she said. "Well, it explains a lot about you," Caleb replied. "People who haven't been there, they can never understand it." Sadie went on: "Yeah, and being broke and practically homeless, it's brought up a lot of stuff."
Sadie then moved her hand over Caleb's leg, causing the depot owner to jump off the sofa in shock. "Whoa. What do you think you're doing?" he asked. "Don't do that again! Don't ever touch me." Sadie was quick to apologise, and assured Caleb that she "wasn't trying anything". She tearfully added: "I don't wanna cause problems... It was just a gesture of friendship. I never meant to make you feel uncomfortable."
Fans predict Joe romance
While Caleb seemed to believe Sadie, some fans are now convinced that she may set her sights on another villager. Despite her history with Caleb's brother, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), a number of viewers believe that Sadie could begin a steamy new romance with Joe, who has recently been grieving the loss of his fiancée, Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley).
"A prediction for future episodes. Does Caleb have an affair with Sadie?" one person asked on a Facebook fan page. Another added: "No, I actually think Joe will." Someone else agreed, writing: "Omg wouldn't be surprised," while a fourth viewer shared: "I can definitely see that happening."
Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
