Emmerdale fans predict Lewis and Vinny split after crash secret

Emmerdale fans are convinced that Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) will face a devastating split when a major secret comes to light. The couple, who have been together since February, recently weathered turbulence after Lewis discovered that Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) is his biological father.

However, viewers have learned that Vinny was responsible for the car crash that claimed the lives of Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley). Vinny has not yet confessed to Lewis, though he has confided in Kev, who was visibly upset by the revelation.

Kev's plea to Gabby

Kev subsequently summoned Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) to Dale View to ensure she would not reveal the truth to Lewis, determined to protect his son's happiness. "The thing is, my son loves the bones of that lad... I've always got his back. And I'm not gonna let anyone, not gonna let my son or Vinny get hurt," Kev explained. "Look Gabby, I'm not threatening you. I'm not even asking you. I'm begging you, please don't break Lewis's heart."

Gabby assured him she would not go to the police. Despite this, many viewers believe Lewis will soon uncover the truth, potentially ending the relationship despite the couple's engagement plans.

Fan predictions and actor hints

On X, one viewer posted: "This is gonna destroy Lewis." Another commented: "Lewis is going to end up hurt because of Vinny." A third questioned: "I wonder if Lewis and Vinny will get married and the truth about Vinny's role in Jimmy and Dawn's death comes to light?" A fourth wrote: "Oh Lewis, you are not gonna like what Vinny has done," while a fifth echoed: "I sense a break-up on the cards."

Speaking on the red carpet at the National Television Awards, Lewis actor Bradley Riches hinted at his character's possible reaction: "I mean, there's only one way to react, isn't there? Yes, I feel like he's not going to react well." Asked whether the secret could jeopardise a potential wedding, he teased: "Never say never is what I'm going to say!"

Riches added: "It means the absolute world joining Emmerdale. I mean, playing a character that is very close to my heart, an autistic character, it means the absolute world. For them to be so open about my experiences, as well as what I think Lewis would go through, it's an amazing thing to be a part of."

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
