Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) came close to leaving the village with Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) but their escape plan unravelled, leading her to point a loaded gun at Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Escape Plan Unravels
Dawn had decided to leave Joe after Billy claimed Joe attacked him and put him in hospital. However, Joe was not responsible; the culprit was Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), who was trying to stop Steve (Jason Done) during a robbery at the depot, and Billy got in the way.
Unaware of the truth, Dawn plotted to leave her soon-to-be husband, believing he was a violent liar. Billy and Dawn planned to flee to Spain with fake passports provided by Ruby and Caleb Miligan (Beth Cordingly and William Ash), who wanted Joe to lose everything.
Surprise Ambush
Joe and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) were set to leave for Prague for the stag do, but Graham returned to Home Farm, interrupting Billy and Dawn's quiet conversation. Graham led them to a field where Joe announced a joint stag and hen do event: clay pigeon shooting.
As the afternoon unfolded, Joe and Graham made comments that made Billy and Dawn suspect they had walked into a trap. With desperation growing, Dawn loaded her gun and pointed it at Joe, leaving viewers to wonder if she will pull the trigger.
