Emma Willis has spoken out for the first time following the live show of Strictly Come Dancing. The TV star joined Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe on the ballroom floor to present the BBC dancing show live from Elstree Studios on Saturday night. Fans said the same thing as Emma shared an update following the first live show of the series.
New presenting trio for 2026 series
The former Big Brother presenter is one of the three new hosts on the 2026 series. Emma, Josh and Johannes have replaced Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman who left their roles at the end of last year's series.
Rumours immediately began to circulate surrounding who would be stepping into Tess and Claudia's shoes. Earlier this year it was revealed that the BBC had made the decision to have three presenters for the show.
Emma's Instagram update after week one
Strictly officially kickstarted last weekend, with the first live show airing on Saturday night. Fans were quick to express their opinions as the new hosts are settling into their new roles.
Emma has shared a post to mark the start of her Strictly journey, posting some snaps from week one. The 50-year-old wrote on Instagram: "Week one, done. I've never had so much fun! What a way to kick things off @bbcstrictly."
Fans flooded the comments with love and supportive messages. One follower called Jane said: "I thought you were brilliant @emmawillisofficial and I loved the whole show." A second wrote: "Thought you were brilliant" and a third added: "Absolutely stunning and you all smashed it !!!! Loved watching the 3 of you."
Fans call for Matt Willis to present
Emma's carousel of photos featured a stunning snap of her dressed in an elegant white dress. She paired the look with a red smokey eye and natural face makeup with gold hoop earrings. In the third video in the post, Emma posted a video with her husband Matt, best known for being a member of the band Busted. The couple, who have been married for 18 years, kissed as they walked down the corridor backstage.
Taking to the comments, fans hinted that Matt would be a great presenter for the show. One said: "Slide three should be the real presenters of Strictly." A second said: "Agree they would be fabulous" and a third added: "Wholeheartedly agree with this. Matt is as natural as she is, there's a reason they're perfectly matched."
