Ellie Taylor has shared what viewers can expect from the new series of Strictly Come Dancing's spin-off It Takes Two, as she makes her presenting debut tonight (September 28). The former Strictly contestant is taking over from Janette Manrara and Fleur East as host of the BBC programme.
New Features and Format Changes
Ahead of the opening episode, Taylor discussed the modifications audiences can anticipate. She said: "There'll be a great mix of old and new features."
"We'll have groups of celebs on without their Pro partners, and vice versa, which will hopefully show the audience a whole new side to their Strictly experience - plus the amazing camaraderie between them all."
"We'll have a Monday Panel made up of previous contestants and Pros who can talk with real experience of what our 2026 cast are experiencing. Oh, and me! I'm new too!"
Presenter Changes Across Strictly
The established programme has witnessed numerous transformations this year, including fresh presenters following Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. During the launch programme, viewers saw Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe make their presenting debut on the BBC show.
Back in 2022, Johannes was paired with Ellie during her stint on the programme. When asked how it feels to be joining Strictly as the host of It Takes Two while her former professional dancer takes on a fresh role, Ellie expressed her delight.
She added: "What a treat! We are both thrilled for one another! It's funny to think back to four years ago, both of us dressed as shepherds about to dance a Viennese Waltz to Lulu's Boom Bang a Bang, having no idea that one day we'd both be back at Strictly in such different roles! It's a dream come true."
Current Leaderboard Standings
Last weekend, BBC audiences witnessed this year's famous faces hit the dance floor for their debut performances. Leading the pack with a score of 31 is social media sensation John Nellis alongside his professional partner, Katya Jones.
Hot on their heels are Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdington, who secured a score of 29 from the judging panel. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the scoreboard sit Sarah Storey, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Melanie Walters, who all notched up 15 points for their routines.
While nobody faced elimination during the opening week, their scores will carry forward to their next performance, with the first departure scheduled for Sunday October 4. Strictly It Takes Two will air weeknights on BBC Two from 6:30pm.
