Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove, who plays Bernie Winter, said she was 'lucky' as she got rare access before joining her castmates at Manchester Pride. The actress, who has been on the ITV soap since 2019, shared the update on Instagram alongside a photo of herself and co-star Jodie Prenger, who plays Glenda Shuttleworth.
Return to the parade
A number of actors from the Salford-filmed soap were out in force on Saturday (August 29) as they joined the city's annual Pride celebrations, making a special appearance during the parade. ITV had been one of the eagerly anticipated floats for several years, but the broadcaster had not 'formally' taken part since 2024 due to cuts at the network.
This year, however, they returned due to the new-look format of the festival, with Corrie stars joined by their Emmerdale counterparts on their own ITV float.
'Lucky girls'
Before joining their soap pals, Jane and Jodie took in a piece of Corrie history. Alongside the selfie, Jane, who is married to fellow actress Isobel Middleton, wrote: "Me and THE Jodie Prenger in the original Corrie Studios! Lucky girls! Love my girls ! Love my job! Love love love xxx."
Corrie co-star Amy Robbins, who plays Christina Boyd, responded: "Aaahhhh [heart emojis] wish I was there . Hope you all had fab pride," while Debbie Webster star Sue Devaney replied: "The best time!" Former soap star and Loose Women legend Sherrie Hewson also gushed: "Love you Jane xxxx."
