Coronation Street fans believe they've uncovered the "truth" behind Richie Parkinson's wife's death, suspecting his daughter Lucy is the real killer. The theory emerged after Tim Metcalfe discovered Rachel's body and Richie was charged with murder.
Tim Finds Rachel's Body
During Monday's (August 10) visit to Weatherfield, Richie stayed at Tim and Sally's house after another row with Rachel. Sally wasn't happy about him sleeping on the sofa and told Tim to take him home. After a heart-to-heart in Tim's taxi, Richie agreed to give things another shot and was dropped off.
Later, Tim realised his cousin had left his wallet and drove back to return it. Knocking on the door, he noticed blood on his shirt and, walking inside, saw Rachel's lifeless body.
Richie Charged with Murder
In episodes starting tonight (August 11), Tim and Sally sit in shocked silence after a sleepless night. DS Lisa Connor-Swain calls round and confirms Richie has been charged with Rachel's murder. Lisa tells them Lucy has been taken into care, while Richie claims self-defence.
Later, social worker Ruth calls Sally, explaining Lucy's foster placement has fallen through. Tim arranges for Lucy to move in with them without consulting Sally. When Lucy arrives, Ruth says she's suffering from grief and trauma. Sally heads upstairs to fetch her for tea but discovers Lucy has run away. Sally and Tim find her at the bus stop and persuade her to come home.
Fans Suspect Lucy
On Tuesday (August 11), viewers took to social media theorising Lucy might be behind her mum's death. On X, @sjl170 wrote: "Is there going to be a twist in this? She’s going to turn out to be the killer & her dad was covering for her? Maybe go on to attack Sally?" @theconnorswains replied: "Thought the same Sal!" and @philnelson7 responded: "Like your thinking there!"
Ahead of her debut, actress Anya Dewin shared a snap outside the Rovers Return, gushing: "I still can’t quite believe I get to say this, but I’m so grateful to be joining the cast of Coronation Street!
