Corrie fans predict Lisa Connor-Swain's Christmas fate

Coronation Street fans have made a dramatic prediction, fearing they have worked out what lies ahead for Lisa Connor-Swain in the long-running ITV soap as Christmas approaches.

The character, played by Stockport actress Vicky Myers, has been at the centre of plenty of drama since arriving in Weatherfield in 2021, but more so in the past couple of years when Lisa was made a regular in the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford.

As Corrie fans know, the detective first arrived on the scene in 2021, with the character then just known as 'DS Swain'. At the time, she led the police investigation into the hate crime assaults on Nina Lucas and her boyfriend Seb Franklin, which led to the latter's death, and more sporadic appearances followed as the Weatherfield residents found themselves on the wrong side of the law.

Lisa's recent turmoil

It wasn't until early 2024 that Corrie announced Vicky as one of its new regular cast members, and she's since had a very busy couple of years, with Lisa embarking upon a relationship with Carla Connor, who ended up becoming seriously ill shortly after, leading to the return of her jailed brother, Rob Donovan, before he left during a siege at No.1 Coronation Street.

Their relationship was tested again with the return of Lisa's ex-wife, Becky Swain, from the dead, soon after the couple got engaged and moved into their own home, No.6. While the villain almost managed to tear them apart, things came to a dramatic climax during Corrie's historic crossover with Emmerdale, Corriedale, which aired in January.

Becky's exit then led to Lisa and Carla's reunion and led to another historic event, as the couple became the first two women to successfully tie the knot in Weatherfield, more than 65 years after Corrie began.

Fans' festive fears

But as viewers know, the couple faces turmoil again when, in July, Betsy Swain was found on the kitchen floor of No.6 Coronation Street by Ryan and was rushed to hospital, where it was confirmed she'd had a stroke at just 18 years old. Betsy's condition appeared to stabilise before she had a second stroke, both of which were confirmed to have been caused by a blood clot, which was the result of neck artery damage from a temporary loss of circulation.

When doctors spoke to Betsy about the cause, the teen had to explain to her mum, Lisa Connor-Swain, that her boyfriend, Dylan Wilson, had strangled her during consensual sex, despite both believing the pressure applied was minimal. Since the initial stroke scenes, Betsy has been seen starting her recovery, first in hospital and now back at home on the Street.

But it's fair to say Corrie fans are missing Lisa and Carla, aka Swarla, scenes and are fearful about the festive period ahead, after actors were seen filming this year's Christmas episodes.

@LadyReignFC said: "Swain went home to change after work or to take Betsy to rest, hears the drama at the Platts or Sally & Tim's, goes to check on them and gets shot for Christmas. Lisa Connor-Swain in the hospital for new years thank ya."

@CazzaShawFox replied: "Think she gets stabbed by Lucy..."

@carlaconnear suggested: "Lucy trying to stop lisa from looking into her dads case and ends up stabbing her… bloody swain come back to usssss."

@RajinderBa6149 replied: "Lucy will do something to sabotage the case once Lisa looks into it." And when @_shanjeffery commented: "If we don't get christmas lisa im tapping OUT for real," @swainsherrera added: "Imagine we get christmas lisa in a hospital bed."
