Coronation Street fans are calling for the return of a familiar face as Sarah Platt faces her latest horror while in prison for the murder of Theo Silverton.
Viewers of the ITV soap, filmed in Salford, saw Sarah arrested on suspicion of the builder's murder last month, months after his lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor.
Flashback reveals the fatal blow
Flashback scenes aired in June showed that it was Sarah who appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off the scaffolding outside his flat and plummeting to the ground, before she called on her former flame Gary Windass for help.
As Todd struggled in the aftermath of his abusive husband's murder, Sarah confessed the truth of her crime to her best friend, while her partner DC Kit Green found out when she admitted to killing Theo as he was trying to pop the question.
Despite Kit's attempts to help cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. At first she pleaded her innocence, but the evidence was stacked against her, and DS Lisa Connor-Swain said she had no choice but to charge Sarah with Theo's murder.
Kacey pressures Sarah behind bars
Having already ended up with a black eye while behind bars, Sarah is facing a further threat thanks to fellow prisoner Kacey. In this week's episodes, Kacey was seen pressuring Sarah to get Kit to pull some strings to help her out. Sarah explained that she and Kit were no longer together, and that there was probably nothing he could do anyway.
However, Kacey continued to plead with Sarah and tried to use emotional tactics about their friendship inside, and how she tried to protect her from her recent attack. Spoilers for what is to come in the long-running show have revealed that Sarah will find herself plotting to fight back.
Fans call for Lou Michaelis to return
But there is also someone in prison that Coronation Street fans have previously called to see return, and they think Lou Michaelis could be the one to help Sarah face her prison bullies as she faces a lengthy stretch.
