Ormskirk MotorFest is set to return on Sunday, August 30, bringing more than 100 cars to the town centre and Coronation Park. The free event, organised by Aintree Circuit Club in partnership with Cataclean, will feature vehicles ranging from classic models to modern performance cars.
West Lancs Tour and Display Details
The day begins with the West Lancs Tour, a 30-mile route through the West Lancashire countryside showcasing vehicles representing over 100 years of motoring history. Spectators can watch the cars along the route before they arrive in Ormskirk between 9.30am and 10.30am. The vehicles will then be displayed across Coronation Park, Aughton Street and Moor Street.
MotorFest officially opens at 11am, with organisers asking visitors not to arrive before then while vehicles are being moved into position. Coronation Park will also feature Silcocks Funfair, along with food, drink and trade stalls. Colbier Craft Brewery will serve a MotorFest-themed beer called “Pole Position Pale Ale”, marking the event's motorsport theme and the 100th anniversary of the British Grand Prix.
Awards and Timings
Eight class awards and the Best of Show prize will be presented at 2pm by the Mayor of West Lancashire. The event will finish at 3pm.
Free car parking will be available in Ormskirk town centre, although organisers are encouraging visitors to use Merseyrail and travel to Ormskirk Station, which is a short walk from the displays. There is no Sunday service on the Ormskirk-Preston line.
Road Closures and Safety
For safety, the following roads will be closed to general traffic from 8am to 5pm: Church Street, Burscough Street, Aughton Street and Moor Street. All other roads in Ormskirk will remain open as normal.
Road closures begin at 8am, with vehicles arriving between 9.30am and 10.30am. The event opens at 11am, awards are presented at 2pm, and closures are lifted at 5pm.
