Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) lives a simple, quiet life in Coronation Street, which is why it comes as a shock to discover that he will soon spend the night with the woman who killed her husband. Next week in the ITV soap, it becomes apparent that Brian is in search of a little bit of fun.
Brian's Unexpected Night
In the pub, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and Ollie Driscoll's (Raphael Akuwudike) conversation suddenly comes to a halt because a dishevelled Brian is making his way down the stairs. He is followed by Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) of all people, and her family is shocked to discover that she's spent the night with Brian.
Clearly searching for something more, Brian quizzes Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) on how to woo Maggie. Later, Eva tells Maggie that she's really happy for her. Maggie ends up revealing that her night was underwhelming and won't be repeated, but has no idea that Brian has arrived with flowers!
Maggie Avoids Brian
Towards the end of the week, Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Pregner) realises that Maggie is avoiding Brian. It seems that things are over before they've even really begun but, given that Maggie pushed her husband down the stairs which resulted in his death, the universe is probably doing Brian a favour!
