Coronation Street fans are experiencing the first of several upcoming changes to when they can watch the long-running ITV soap, due to coverage of the FIFA World Cup.
Friday's Episode Missed
On Friday, June 5, Corrie viewers were unable to get their usual fix of cobbles action because ITV aired the FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier between Spain and England. This missing episode means that Coronation Street will air a rare Sunday episode this weekend, on Sunday, June 7, at 8.30pm.
What Happens in the Latest Episode
In the upcoming episode, DC Kit Green quizzes Gary Windass about Todd Grimshaw's phone. Gary feigns ignorance, but Kit tells Lisa that Gary definitely knows more than he is letting on and intends to get to the bottom of it. Meanwhile, Todd takes a call from the prison informing him that Summer has been admitted to the hospital. When Summer admits that she switched off her insulin pump and made herself ill because she cannot cope with life in prison, Todd is horrified. As Todd relays this to his friends in the Rovers, will someone be able to mask their guilt?
Elsewhere, a nervous Daniel shows the social worker in. Daniel Osbourne apologises to Adam Barlow and Alya Nazir, telling them he appreciates their help and is pretty sure he knows who called social services. Also, when David Platt cannot find Harper's five-month milestone card, they end up missing her photo shoot at the hospital. Wife Shona is gutted, and back home, David accuses Jodie Ramsey of stealing the card.
More Schedule Changes Ahead
Corrie spoilers have confirmed what is ahead for the next week, but there are more scheduling changes. The programme will be off the air on Tuesday, June 9, as a result of the England and Ukraine World Cup qualifying match being broadcast. Then on Wednesday, June 10, Corrie will air an hour earlier than usual at 7.30pm. To make up for the missing episode, Corrie will broadcast for an hour on Friday, June 12, from 9pm.
