Coronation Street fans are predicting a shock twist for Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), with some convinced he could begin seeing his dead mother, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), again.
Sam made his debut on the ITV soap in 2020 as the secret son of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). Over the years, he has been at the centre of several major storylines, including his friendship with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and the heartbreaking death of his mother, who was murdered by Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) in 2021.
Sam's recent ordeal
This year, Sam's mental state deteriorated and he started having hallucinations. Things took a heartbreaking turn this week when he suffered a psychic breakdown and was sent to hospital.
Sam has since returned to the cobbles, but it is clear he is still struggling. Last week, he caused Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) to fall down the stairs at the Rovers Return, knocking her unconscious. Instead of getting help, he stood over her lifeless body before making a run for it. Eva was eventually discovered by Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) and rushed to hospital.
Bombshell revelations
Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) was then named as the main suspect, leaving Sam ridden with guilt. However, in Thursday's episode (October 1), Sam revealed the truth to his family, including dad Nick. He also dropped another bombshell, revealing he has racked up a huge cryptocurrency debt in Nick's name, leaving his family stunned.
Fans predict Natasha's return
With Sam clearly still going through an ordeal, fans are certain he could start hallucinating again, and this time, they think he could see a former cobbles resident.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “I’m not liking where Sam’s story is going at the moment.” Someone else chimed in and predicted his mum Natasha’s return: “I think he’ll start seeing things again, maybe his dead mum.”
A third agreed: “I said the same.” Another fan penned: “That would be so bittersweet for him.” A fifth said: “I can see that happening but I wish they hadn’t taken this route with Sam.”
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
