Jeremy Clarkson has commented on Angela Scanlon's new role at BBC Radio 2, focusing on how 'attractive' he finds the presenter. The Clarkson's Farm star wrote in his column for The Sun: 'I will always watch a show hosted by Angela Scanlon, partly because she's a good presenter but mostly – and I hope she doesn't mind me saying this – because I find her very attractive. Which is why I was extremely disappointed to hear this week that the BBC has given her a big new job…on the radio.'
Scanlon's new drive-time show
Scanlon, 42, is taking over from Sara Cox on the drive-time show from 4pm to 7pm every weekday. Cox, 51, has moved to the breakfast slot after former presenter Scott Mills was fired from the national broadcaster in March due to allegations over his 'personal conduct', relating to an investigation into historical allegations of serious sexual offences.
In a statement about the move, Scanlon said it was 'properly exciting' to land the job, adding: 'Millions of people, all having completely different days, piling into the same conversation for a few hours – what a strange and lovely thing!' She continued: 'Every weekday, I'll be in your ears, your cars and your kitchens – on the school run, on the way home, or standing at the hob wondering what on earth to feed a small but hungry mob.'
Clarkson teases new project
Clarkson has also teased that he is working on a new show 'bigger' than Celebrity Traitors. During an appearance at the RTS Convention in London, he said: 'We're currently thinking about what we're going to do after Clarkson's Farm, and it's going to have to be something bigger – to stand out, to protect us from the onslaught from underneath.'
He continued, as quoted by The Sun: 'It has to be unbelievably ambitious, like, where people go, “What the f*** are you doing? That's an incredible show!”' Clarkson used The Traitors as 'a very good example', with the second celeb version kicking off this week in explosive fashion. 'They get proper celebrities on that, and it's a great show.'
The fifth season of Clarkson's Farm aired earlier this year, with Clarkson confirming that filming for a sixth season had wrapped.
