Chrissie Hynde has issued an urgent plea to help find her dog Nico, who has been missing for over two weeks. The Pretenders frontwoman, 74, described herself as “absolutely heartbroken” in a series of social media appeals.
Last seen near Silkstream Park
Nico, a five-year-old Jack Russell cross, was last seen near the entrance to Silkstream Park in Colindale, London. Hynde shared a photo on Instagram on Thursday, writing: "Can anyone in Great Britain tell me of the whereabouts of my little dog Nico?"
She speculated about possible scenarios, including someone harbouring the dog or a car accident, and pleaded: "Please, please, please if anyone has seen her at all, can you let me know? Last seen: Silkstream Park in Colindale, London. NW7/NW9."
Fans offer support
Supporters responded with messages of hope, such as "Praying for Nico's return!!" and "Feeling and knowing the anguish and desperately hoping Nico is found." One follower suggested volunteer organisations in the UK that could help locate a lost dog.
In an earlier appeal on Wednesday, Hynde described Nico as "very dear to me" and urged people not to chase the dog if spotted, as she might be nervous. She also noted Nico's tan coat with white markings and a black collar with a silver tag.
