Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins is set to front Channel 5's Jeremy Vine show this Friday, October 2. The ITV star has been stepping in for regular hosts on the rival channel, having covered for Matt Allwright's programme last Friday.
Charlotte Hawkins' Channel 5 appearances
Charlotte Hawkins, who regularly reads the news on Good Morning Britain and stands in for Susanna Reid, also anchors ITV's evening news. Last Friday, she covered for the regular presenter of the Matt Allwright show and shared photos from the studio on social media.
She confirmed her return to Channel 5 in a post, writing: "A whole lot of stripes going on. Great being back on @channel5_tv today hosting @mattallwrighton5, and I'll be back next Fri covering @jeremyvineon5, so make sure you join me then. Meanwhile, the weekend beckons.. and the sun is shining! Have a good one."
Reaction from colleagues and fans
Her ITV co-star Paul Brand, who has hosted Good Morning Britain in the past, jokingly asked: "Do you ever stop?!" She replied: "Try not to... [laughing emoji]"
One viewer commented: "Lovely outfit choice. Great to see you on this today." Another added: "Great to watch you on my lunch break today." A third joked: "You're ITN's main anchor now. Just channel 4 to go now, and you have cracked all 3 lol."
Previous stint on Jeremy Vine
This is not the first time Charlotte has stepped in on Channel 5. She replaced Jeremy Vine on his show back in June this year. During that summer show, she welcomed Mike Parry back to the panel after his treatment for skin cancer, where he gave an update on his health.
At the time, he said: "I feel very well, thank you. I can't thank The Royal Marsden Hospital enough for what they did for me last week. It was five consecutive days, a blast of radiation, once a day, a serious blast and then other procedures."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am. The Jeremy Vine show airs weekdays on Channel 5 from 9:15am.
