Celebrity Traitors ruined by constant traitor recruitment, says fan
Celebrity Traitors ruined by constant traitor recruitment

Express reporter and Celebrity Traitors fan Adam Toms has been left disgruntled at how this series is playing out, arguing that the constant turnover of traitors has ruined the show and removed the jeopardy surrounding the possibility of them being discovered.

Traitor recruitment criticised

Celebrities are back in the castle and Brits are once again gripped by what has become a much-loved game of deception and murdering. Last year’s series was a positive hit, as comedian Alan Carr stole the show as a traitor, pulling the wool over his fellow players’ eyes with hilarity. At one point, he was forced to look into the eyes of those still playing and insist to them that he was a faithful. As he tried to do so, he burst out laughing.

Then came one of the television moments of the year when Alan revealed his true identity, causing Nick Mohammed to exclaim: “F*** off!” So far, the moment of this latest series was when Richard E. Grant admitted to Joe Lycett’s face that he was a traitor moments after he was selected by host Claudia Winkleman.

Game on easy mode

Before he was inevitably banished, Richard and Maya Jama chose a third player to join them — comedian James Acaster. This meant that after Richard was banished, only two cloaked killers remained and they were once again given the chance to offer a faithful a place in the turret. Foolishly, they chose Professor Hannah Fry, who the rest of the players immediately became suspicious of. She was banished, and yet again a recruitment was made.

This time of “King Kenny” — about whom a great many viewers, including the reporter, will know absolutely nothing about. The producers should be stricter and restrict the ability to ask another player to pick up a knife. Maya and James are more than capable of taking on the faithfuls as a duo. They have not been on many people’s radar. Currently, they are being given helping hands when they don’t need them.

Jeopardy lost

It’s as if the game has been put on easy mode. If the reporter were one of the faithfuls, he would have felt quite annoyed. It’s like catching a traitor has lost its meaning. He says he is feeling himself becoming more disengaged with every passing episode, which is sad to say as he is a big fan of the show.

He feels it may be too late to fix things in this series, and hopes it gets more intense as the series progresses.
