The next episode of The Celebrity Traitors season 2 will air on BBC One this Thursday, October 8, at 8pm. Episode four will broadcast at the same time on Friday, October 9.
The celebrity spin-off premiered on October 1, with host Claudia Winkleman welcoming 21 stars into the castle. She quickly split the group into Traitors and Faithfuls, choosing veteran actor Richard E. Grant and Love Island presenter Maya Jama as this season's Traitors. The duo later recruited comedian James Acaster, but his promotion led to the murder of journalist Amol Rajan.
Cliff-Hanger Ending Sparks Fan Complaints
Viewers were left hanging after just two episodes, with the second instalment ending on a cliff-hanger as contestants gathered for their first roundtable vote. Fans have voiced complaints about the show's release schedule online, with one X user posting: "I hate the scheduling because why do we have to wait SIX days for the next episode?? #CelebrityTraitors."
One person agreed, adding: "I WANNA BINGE WATCH," while another tweet said: "I wanna know what happens straight away, I can't wait a few more days honestly." Yet another fan chimed in: "It is psychological warfare," with a fourth adding: "Ending it MID BANISHMENT and then making us wait SIX DAYS is actually evil."
Episode Five Date and Mixed Reactions
Viewers will have to wait another six days before tuning into episode five, which is set to air next Thursday, October 15. A synopsis for the third episode teases: "As the first banishment unfolds, the Faithful are hoping that they've caught a Traitor, while the Traitors are desperate to keep their identities concealed."
But others have been celebrating the slow-release schedule because it ramps up anticipation. "Best part of TV, waiting is the best part," commented one. And a final watcher confessed: "I like having to wait. Everyone expects everything instantaneously these days then you've got nothing to look forward to." The first two episodes of The Celebrity Traitors season 2 are streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
