The third episode of Celebrity Traitors will air on BBC One and iPlayer at 8pm on Thursday, October 8, after Friday's cliffhanger left fans frustrated. The subsequent instalment will follow at the same time on Friday, October 9, with episodes continuing every Thursday and Friday until the finale on Friday, October 30.
Traitors selected and first elimination
Claudia Winkleman chose Maya Jama and Richard E. Grant as the first two Traitors on Thursday, October 1, following a mistake that saw Richard inadvertently reveal himself in front of a group of Faithfuls. At the end of the opening episode, Maya and Richard selected two Faithfuls to meet them in the chapel, where one would be converted into a Traitor and the other eliminated.
On Friday, October 2, it was disclosed that James Acaster joined the Traitors, while Amol Rajan departed the castle. The contestants then faced a task involving being buried alive, which proved overwhelming for Jerry Hall, who asked to be released from her coffin before the challenge began, leading to her immediate nomination for elimination alongside Hannah Fry.
Roundtable drama and fan reaction
The first roundtable saw Julie Hesmondhalgh, Ross Kemp, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Richard defend themselves before a dramatic cliffhanger prompted complaints from viewers. One fan wrote on X: "What a b***** cliffhanger!" Another said: "Simply can't wait almost a week to find out who gets banished [crying emoji]."
Before the next episode, viewers can watch The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, the official video podcast hosted by Ed Gamble, featuring banished and murdered players. Claudia also offers insight into her selections in Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides, probing contestants' personal lives and motives.
