Ross Kemp became the latest celebrity to be eliminated from Celebrity Traitors after the Traitors successfully murdered him in plain sight during Thursday's episode. The BBC show's viewers were left in tears and disbelief as the EastEnders icon fell victim to the scheme.
Traitors' Plan Succeeds
The previous Friday's episode ended on a cliffhanger as the Traitors - Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny - were tasked with murdering one of the Faithfuls. Armed with a mysterious powder, they were instructed to spray it into a room and convince an unwitting contestant to yawn, with both Ross Kemp and Jerry Hall falling into the trap.
The mission was simple: induce another player to yawn, then ask, "Am I boring you?" without arousing suspicion. Maya and James frantically yawned repeatedly as they tried to entice Ross, Jerry, or any other unsuspecting Faithful to take the bait.
Ross Kemp's Reaction
Just moments into Thursday's instalment, it emerged that Ross had yawned first in the presence of Maya and James, leading to his elimination in plain sight. Upon learning of his departure, Ross told the camera: "I was really sensitive to people coming close to me; could have been a cheers, could have been anything".
He added: "There's a great line from Shakespeare, I think it's Polonius's advice to his son: 'To thine own self be true,' and I have been true to myself, and I have been true to the Faithfuls". He then quipped: "Well played, Traitors, but you're always going to be Traitors, and I know where you live."
Fans React
Viewers took to social media to express their sorrow. One person posted on X: "Noooo! Ross! #CelebrityTraitors", while another declared: "ROSS NO. ROSS", accompanied by crying face emojis. A third added: "ROSS (crying face) #CelebrityTraitors", and another confessed: "I'm gutted for Ross, his worst nightmare came true lmfao #TheTraitors #CelebrityTraitors."
One individual simply wrote "Ross #CelebrityTraitors" with crying face emojis, while another responded in disbelief: "Bog off! Kemp! Nah!".
Celebrity Traitors airs on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
