Bowen skips England win to support Dani Dyer on Strictly

Jarrod Bowen skipped England's 7-0 Nations League win over Croatia to support wife Dani Dyer in the audience of Strictly Come Dancing's Movie Week. The West Ham footballer, a former England international, was present for the BBC dance contest, showing where his loyalties lie.

Former Love Island star Dani received a standing ovation from her husband after an impressive foxtrot to music from Beauty and the Beast. Dani and partner Nikita Kuzmin scored 23 from the judges as they opened the show.

Judges praise Dani's performance

Following on from their Samba efforts last week, Shirley Ballas told the reality TV star: "You're right where you need to be. You showed promise... Spins, I agree with Motsi, you did very well this week. ... All in all, a good start."

Dani went on to tell Johannes Radebe: "I loved it, I just forget that I'm doing it."

Behind the scenes with the family

In the opening VT, Nikita joined Dani, Jarrod and their kids at home, with Jarrod beaming as the group enjoyed an imaginative princess party. While Nikita was the Beast for the main show, he showed he's just as happy being the Beauty, allowing the children to cover him in makeup.

Jarrod was invited into the room by Dani to meet Nikita Kuzmin dressed as a Disney princess, telling him: "I love your dress." Jarrod asked his children: "Should I wear that dress?" They replied simply: "No."

Jarrod, who stayed with West Ham following the team's relegation from the Premier League, may have had one eye on the football scores after his wife's opening routine.

England's dominant win

Thomas Tuchel's men waltzed their way to a 7-0 win. Goals came from Harry Kane (8', 53'), Jude Bellingham (21'), Anthony Gordon (39'), Bukayo Saka (45', 68') and Morgan Rogers (87'). It followed on from an impressive 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic.

Dani and her dad, actor Danny Dyer, are regulars in the stands at the London Stadium for their beloved Irons to watch Jarrod and his teammates. But she recently had her say on a colourful West Ham terraces chant about her and Jarrod.

Since the couple started dating, fans have gleefully belted out an ode to her romance with the striker to the tune of Gala's Freed From Desire. The mum-of-three, who shares twins with Bowen, reposted an Instagram story following a previous win showing West Ham players singing along to the tune in front of fans.

The initial caption by fellow WAG Summer Godbold read "I'm sorry Dani," with a crying face emoji, to which Dani responded with three laughing faces. Another fan said they 'felt for her' after hearing the song endlessly sung by the fans, to which Dani replied 'Oh I don't mind!' Dani's dad Danny Dyer, a life-long Hammers fan, has also made it clear he is not cross about the tune.
