The Big Brother house has welcomed two new housemates, Catrin and Twinks, following the third live eviction of the series on October 2. Teaching assistant Catrin, 23, from Aberdare, and fashion stylist Twinks, 36, from East London, entered the house after Johanne Cade, 44, was voted out by the public.
Johanne faced Rochelle Rackham, 57, in the public vote after nominations earlier in the week. With over one million votes cast, Johanne was evicted and forced to leave the show immediately. Hosts Will and AJ announced the twist during the episode.
Who is Twinks?
Twinks is a 36-year-old fashion stylist and Hype Girl MC from East London. Describing herself as an "ultimate hype girl", she said she plans to bring motivation, "joy, whimsy, levity and fun" to the house as a "peacekeeper".
Ahead of her debut, Twinks told ITV: "I think people will be suspicious of me. I know that I’m a big character and I don’t think people are going to think I’m necessarily genuine or authentic off the bat - I’m going to have to earn their trust." She added: "I’m going in there with cheeky, fun, light, joyful energy rather than to cause trouble - I’m not that kind of troublemaker. I’m a professional party starter so that is what I would like to bring to the House. And hopefully try and mend some rifts - get everyone laughing and dancing together!"
She also said she is excited to meet Rob and Sam, and added: "I’m a silly goose in high glam. I really have no interest in talking s*** behind people's backs or being shouted at. I do not want to be shouted at. I just want to sing some show tunes!"
Who is Catrin?
Catrin is a 23-year-old teaching assistant from Aberdare who applied for the show after a glass of wine. She told ITV she likes being in front of a camera and could "potentially bring more entertainment".
Speaking about her biggest challenge, Catrin said: "I think the thing is people have got a perception from what they’ve already seen through watching it. But they’re only seeing a snapshot from 24hrs. We don’t really know what these people are like. So it would be nice to see are they really like that? Or is that just for telly? It’ll be nice to get to know them on a deeper level. And ignore the fact that I’ve seen all the drama."
Catrin said she is excited to meet Philip and expressed apprehension over which housemates she would meet, adding: "Johanne and Rochelle. For obvious reasons - big clash, huge clash there. I think if anything they’re both quite similar. Because they’re both quite loud and outgoing. That’s why they’re clashing - they both have the same approach to things. I know I’ll meet one of them tonight and it’s going to be interesting."
Big Brother continues Sunday, October 4 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
