Alison Hammond Slams Shaun Ryder as 'Very Rude' in I'm A Celeb Feud
Alison Hammond slams Shaun Ryder in I'm A Celeb feud

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has publicly called out her former I'm A Celebrity co-star Shaun Ryder, describing him as 'very rude' and revealing their ongoing feud that has lasted for fifteen years.

Jungle Tensions Resurface

The 50-year-old television personality didn't hold back when discussing her soured relationship with the 63-year-old musician during Sunday's episode of I'm A Celebrity Unpacked. Host Joel Dommett, 40, had prompted the conversation after panellist Alex Scott mentioned she couldn't stand rude people.

Alison recalled her 2010 jungle experience with vivid detail: 'When I went in there, I'll never forget, I walked in and said the party's here with my Terry's Chocolate Orange, and everyone was like [unbothered face]. Then, Shaun Ryder hated my guts straight away for no reason. He was very rude.'

Defending The Friendship

However, not everyone agreed with Alison's assessment. Leigh Francis, who appeared on the same panel and is friends with Ryder, immediately jumped to the musician's defence. 'I know Shaun and he's normally really lovely,' the comedian told her.

This isn't the first time the pair have addressed their rocky relationship. Two years ago, Shaun commented on the situation, saying: 'Ever since the jungle show, I knew Alison didn't like me. But fair enough, nobody has to like each other. It's not against the law.'

Original Jungle Clashes

The tension between them began during their time in the Australian jungle camp in 2010, where Shaun apparently struggled with Alison's outgoing personality following her late arrival. In the Bush Telegraph, the frustrated singer complained: 'Oh more f**king people in the camp. And a loud person and a cheery person as well.'

He added: 'She's probably a really nice person, don't get me wrong. I like Alison. I like horse s**t in the country but I don't want it in my living room.' Despite threatening to leave, Shaun persevered and reached the I'm A Celeb final, narrowly losing to winner Stacey Solomon, while Alison finished in 10th place.

Meanwhile, the new series of I'm A Celebrity launched with typical drama on Sunday evening. The stars entering camp this year include Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp, comedy icon Ruby Wax, model Kelly Brook and EastEnders actress Shona McGarty.

The show began with chaotic scenes as Kelly Brook screamed that critters were 'biting my t*ts!' during a challenging task that saw thousands of insects dropped on the contestants. Alex Scott squealed: 'They're all down my bloody bra!' while Ruby Wax quipped about straddling driver Kiosk Kev, proving that jungle tensions and entertainment continue to go hand in hand.
