BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills, 51, has confirmed his secret cameo in the New Year's Day episode of EastEnders. The episode featured a flash-forward to 2027, where character Max Branning was listening to Mills' radio show. During the scene, Mills gave a shoutout to Max, reading a message from his son Oscar wishing him luck on his wedding day.
Mills took to social media after the episode aired to reveal his involvement, writing: "I’ve been keeping more secrets than Santa this Christmas LOL." Fans were amazed by his secret-keeping abilities, with one suggesting he would make an excellent Traitor on Celebrity Traitors. Another fan said: "I almost fell off the sofa."
The flash-forward showed Max preparing for his fifth wedding, but the identity of his bride remains a mystery. Potential brides seen in the episode included Cindy Beale, Linda Carter, Chelsea Fox, and Denise Fox. However, some fans speculate the bride could be Zoe Slater, who was notably absent from the episode.
Additionally, a scene showed a pregnant woman in Max's bed, whose identity was concealed. Fans believe the woman might be Chelsea Fox, after a recent episode where she hinted at finding Max attractive. One fan noted: "Sounds like Chelsea that does," while another added: "Gotta be Chelsea, she’s not been in a big storyline for a while."
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
