Under the handle Today Years Old, the user proposed that the timeless riddle, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" harbours a macabre secret. They argued that the "road" is not a literal road but a metaphor for the afterlife, and the chicken's journey to the "other side" signifies its death.
"I cannot believe it took me 25 years to realise that in the chicken crossing the road joke, the 'other side' is the afterlife because it died," the user wrote. This philosophical take suggests the chicken made a conscious choice to cross into eternity, rather than becoming accidental roadkill.
Divided Reactions From The Online Flock
The internet's response was swift and split. While some were impressed by the bleakly creative analysis, others staunchly defended the joke's innocent simplicity.
